FLORIDA — Nine children were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in the Richmond Heights neighborhood, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash happened at the intersection of Raleigh Street and Ivy Lane and involved a Nissan Altima and an Alfa Romeo. Troopers said the Nissan ran off the road and struck a tree along eastbound Raleigh Street, just east of Campanella Avenue.

All nine children were taken to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children with severe injuries, FHP said.

On Friday, Orlando Health officials reported that four of the children have been discharged, while five others and one adult remain hospitalized.

Several fire rescue agencies responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
