New Ohio community center broken into before opening, police searching for suspects

AKRON — Authorities are searching for two suspects caught on surveillance footage breaking into the Ed Davis Community Center and stealing construction equipment before the new building’s scheduled opening.

The Akron Police Department reported that the break-in occurred between late Friday night, October 18, and early Saturday morning.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspects entering the facility, which is still under construction, and leaving with valuable tools, including saws and shop vacuums.

Police are unsure how the pair gained entry.
