
NORTH CAROLINA — A murder warrant has been issued for a man following the death of a woman Sunday evening, authorities said.
The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Henry Paul Deyton is wanted in connection with the death of Emma Gibbs Deyton. Deputies responded to a home on Twilight Way in the Burnsville/South Toe community on the evening of Nov. 2, where they found Emma Gibbs Deyton deceased.
Shortly after, Henry Paul Deyton was involved in a single-vehicle crash nearby and was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center.
He is currently in the custody of the Johnson City Police Department while receiving medical care.
The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, is actively investigating the case.
