OHIO — Several Ohio lottery players won big prizes in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, while the record-breaking $1.8 billion jackpot was finally hit.
According to Powerball officials, 10 people in Ohio won prizes of $50,000 or more. The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62. The Powerball was 17, and the PowerPlay multiplier was 2.
Two tickets worth $1 million each were sold in the state. One was purchased at Poor Boys Kwik-Stock in Woodstock, and the other at Hudson Express Carryout in Columbus. Both tickets matched all five white ball numbers.
Two additional players won $100,000 apiece after matching four numbers plus the Powerball with the PowerPlay multiplier. Those tickets were sold at Beverage Depot in Geneva and Stop N Go in Struthers.
Six other players in Ohio each won $50,000 for matching four numbers plus the Powerball. Locations for those winning tickets have not yet been released.
The grand prize was finally claimed Saturday after weeks of rollovers. Two tickets—one in Missouri and one in Texas—matched all numbers to split the $1.8 billion jackpot. Each winner will receive $900 million before taxes.
The jackpot now resets to $20 million. The next drawing is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8.
