Amherst County, Carroll County, Danville City, Galax City, Grayson County, Halifax County, Henry County, Roanoke County, Amelia County, Caroline County, King & Queen County, King William County, New Kent County, Northumberland County, Nottoway County, Petersburg City, Powhatan County, Richmond City, Richmond Waldorf School, Spotsylvania County, St. Edward – Epiphany School, St. Joseph Catholic School, Surry County, Sussex County, and The Hunter School will all be closed.

Several schools, including Franklin County, Giles County, Radford City, Sowing Seeds Academy, The Faison Center, Culpeper County, Dickenson County, Norton City, Scott County, Washington County, and Wise County, will open two or more hours late. Some schools, such as Kenston Forest and Mecklenburg County, will operate virtually.

Officials caution that closures affect both daytime and evening activities in many districts, and some staff are directed to report according to specific employee codes or work remotely. Parents and guardians are advised to monitor school announcements for any updates or changes.

This widespread disruption comes as authorities prepare for hazardous weather conditions across the state, prompting preventative measures to ensure student and staff safety.
