TEXAS — A review of school district calendars across Texas shows that very few schools will be closed during the week of April 6 through April 10, 2026, with most districts having already completed spring break earlier in March.
Among the districts with confirmed closures next week:
- Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District lists April 3–6 as Easter break, meaning students are out of school on Monday, April 6 before returning later in the week.
- Leander Independent School District shows April 6 as a staff development/student holiday, resulting in no classes for students that day.
- Sherman Independent School District also lists Monday, April 6 as a no-school day following earlier spring break.
Additionally, reporting from South Texas indicates that both Laredo Independent School District and United Independent School District are closed Monday, April 6 for Easter observances, with classes resuming afterward.
Most other Texas districts scheduled spring break between March 9–20, with only a small number extending into early April.
Overall, closures in Texas during April 6–10 are limited primarily to Monday, April 6 (Easter-related holidays or staff days), with students in most districts attending classes for the remainder of the week.
