PENNSYLVANIA — Multiple schools in Fayette County were placed on lockdown due to what officials described as an “active, isolated investigation,” prompting a large police presence in South Union Township.
Authorities said numerous law enforcement vehicles were seen in the area of Heritage Hills Road as the situation unfolded. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene and took the lead in handling the investigation.
Officials released limited details but later confirmed the incident involved an individual experiencing a mental health crisis. Authorities said the situation was resolved without further incident.
Local officials reported that all affected schools have since been reopened and that there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the surrounding community.
