OKLAHOMA — A sweeping winter storm brought snow, icy roads and dangerously cold conditions to much of Oklahoma, prompting school districts across the state to cancel classes and suspend activities for Monday, January 26, 2026

In the Oklahoma City area, Norman Public Schools confirmed that all classes and extracurricular activities are canceled Monday as officials continue to monitor treacherous road conditions. Mid-Del Schools, Edmond Public Schools, Putnam City Schools, Moore Public Schools and Yukon Public Schools also announced closures.

Across Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma, Tulsa Public Schools said all schools and district offices will be closed Monday due to severe winter weather.

Jenks Public Schools canceled classes and all after-school activities, while Broken Arrow Public Schools and Union Public Schools designated Monday a traditional snow day. Bixby Public Schools announced it will remain closed through Monday and has canceled evening activities as well.

Some districts are shifting to alternative learning formats. Owasso Public Schools plans to move to distance learning on both Monday and Tuesday in response to ongoing hazardous conditions.

Smaller districts and rural schools throughout southeast and eastern Oklahoma have also reported closures or remote instruction plans on Monday. Among them, Antlers Public Schools, Rattan Public Schools, and other southeast Oklahoma schools are either closed or transitioning to virtual learning, according to regional weather and school closing updates.

State officials continue to urge families to stay off roadways when possible and to check directly with local districts throughout the day, as decisions could be updated if weather and travel conditions change.
