
KENTUCKY — Numerous school districts, Head Start programs, and community facilities across Kentucky have announced closures and delays for Tuesday, citing weather-related and operational concerns.
Several districts will be closed Tuesday, including Clay County, Estill County, Jackson County, Lawrence County, Lee County, Leslie County, Morgan County, Owsley County, Powell County Schools, and Wolfe County.
Lee County Schools specifically designated the closure as a Snow Day. Morgan County Schools and Owsley County Schools will operate under Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days, allowing students to complete assignments remotely where applicable.
Multiple Head Start programs are also affected. Bath County Head Start will be closed Tuesday and will operate as a Non-Traditional Instruction Day. Morgan County Head Start and Rowan County Head Start are also closed Tuesday with NTI days in place. Lewis County Head Start will open on a two-hour delay.
Several districts will operate on delays. Fayette County Schools will open two hours late Tuesday. Garrard County Schools announced a one-hour delay for students, while Lewis County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
In addition, Big Sandy CTC – Prestonsburg Campus reported virtual operations, and WeeCare Daycare will open late at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. NAMI Participation Station will be closed Tuesday.
Families and staff are encouraged to monitor official school and district communications for any updates and to use caution when traveling.
