
ILLINOIS — A wide range of schools across central and eastern Illinois will be closed, operate remotely, or adjust schedules on Monday, December 15, 2025, due to winter weather conditions.
Several districts have announced full closures, including Canton R-V School District, Clark County R-1 School District, Lewis County C-1 School District, Mahomet-Seymour Schools, Paris District #95, Paris-Crestwood, and Kansas Schools.
Arthur Christian School and other Arthur-area private schools will also be closed, with a decision on evening activities expected by early afternoon.
Many other districts will shift to e-learning or remote instruction. Champaign Unit 4, Bismarck-Henning CUSD #1, Blue Ridge CUSD #18, Cerro Gordo School District #100, Heritage School District, Rantoul City Schools, Urbana School District, Tolono Unit 7, Oakwood CUSD 76, Westville CUSD #2, and multiple St. Joseph-area schools will all hold e-learning days. Some districts noted that decisions on extracurricular activities will be made later in the day.
Astoria Schools will use virtual learning, while some early childhood and Head Start programs, including multiple RPC Early Childhood centers and Urbana Head Start, will be closed. Families are encouraged to watch for updates regarding after-school activities and reopening plans.
