Multiple schools in Florida to close next week

0

FLORIDA — A review of school district calendars across Florida shows that a limited number of schools will be closed at some point during the week of April 6 through April 10, 2026, with most districts having already completed spring break earlier in March.

Among those with confirmed closures next week:

  • Baker County School District is closed the entire week of April 6–10 for spring break, with no classes scheduled during that period.
  • Duval County Public Schools has multiple non-instructional days during the week, including April 7 (employee planning day, no school for students) and additional calendar-designated days such as April 6 and April 7 where students do not attend.
  • Clay County District Schools lists Friday, April 10 as a student and teacher holiday (“Fair Day”), resulting in no classes that day.
  • Lee County School District observes April 6 as a no-school day for Easter Monday, meaning students are off at least at the start of the week.

These closures are limited and vary by district. Most Florida school systems scheduled spring break for mid-March (commonly March 16–20) and returned to class well before April.

Overall, while there is no widespread statewide closure for April 6–10 in Florida, several districts will have full-week spring break or isolated no-school days during that timeframe depending on local calendars.
