Multiple rounds of measurable snow expected in Ohio this week

OHIO — The National Weather Service (NWS) offices in Wilmington and Cleveland have issued updates on weather conditions expected from Tuesday through Thursday, with significant changes in temperatures, wind speeds, and precipitation.

Wilmington Forecast

Mild conditions will continue Tuesday, with light rain and temperatures ranging from the 40s to 50s.

However, colder weather will move in Wednesday, bringing temperatures down to the 30s, wind gusts over 30 mph, and the possibility of light snow in the morning.

Scattered snow showers are expected Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, temperatures will drop further, with highs only reaching the 20s and wind gusts up to 25 mph.

Cleveland Forecast

Rain is expected to arrive from the south on Tuesday, ahead of a cold front.

A second, stronger cold front will move through Wednesday, bringing more rain that will transition to snow.

Lake-effect snow will develop Wednesday night into Thursday, with potentially significant snowfall in areas where squalls persist.

Winter Storm Watch

The NWS in Cleveland has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Erie County, Pennsylvania, and the northern portion of Ashtabula County, Ohio, primarily north of I-90.

The watch will be in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday.

Residents in these areas should prepare for hazardous travel conditions and stay updated on weather alerts.

Stay tuned for further updates from the NWS as the system develops.
