An explosion at an explosives manufacturing facility in Hickman County left multiple people missing and at least one person possibly dead Friday morning, authorities said.
The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the blast occurred at Accurate Energetic Systems near Bucksnort.
Emergency crews are on the scene, and the sheriff’s office urged residents to avoid the area to allow first responders to work safely and efficiently.
According to its website, Accurate Energetic Systems, LLC, established in 1980, specializes in the development, manufacture, handling, and storage of high-quality energetic products for both defense and commercial markets.
Officials have not yet released the identities of those affected or additional details about the cause of the explosion.
