Multiple people injured following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2025, near milepost 0 on State Route 41 in Ross County.

The collision, which happened around 3:11 p.m., left multiple people injured and prompted both air and ground emergency responses.

According to investigators, a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 driven by 72-year-old Omer Abner of Hillsboro crossed the center line and struck a 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 23-year-old Candace Ramey of Peebles.

Abner suffered serious injuries and was flown by MedFlight to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Ramey sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. Her truck was carrying two passengers at the time of the crash — 26-year-old Kenneth Blair of Piketon and a juvenile from Peebles.

Blair was seriously injured and transported by Paxton/Bainbridge EMS to Highland District Hospital. He is expected to be transferred to Wexner Medical Center. The juvenile was not reported injured.

Responding agencies included Paint Creek Township Fire and EMS and Paxton/Bainbridge Fire and EMS.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
