Multiple people arrested following drug bust in Alabama

ALABAMA — Huntsville police and the North Alabama Drug Task Force (NADTF) announced a major drug trafficking takedown, resulting in 23 indictments and significant seizures, officials said.

The operation marks the first conducted under Alabama’s newly enacted Agent Billy Clardy III Act, which provides enhanced investigative tools to combat drug trafficking.

Authorities reported that the investigation led to the seizure of $4.8 million in illegal drugs, $223,385 in cash, 10 firearms, and four vehicles.

Those charged in connection with the operation include Huntsville residents and individuals from across the country facing trafficking and conspiracy charges related to cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, MDMA, and other controlled substances. Some of the individuals named in the indictments are:

• Reginald Eugene Scott, 46, of Huntsville – Trafficking Cocaine and Marijuana
• Fabian Darrell Scott, 48, of Huntsville – Trafficking Cocaine
• Devin Emmett Farrell, 37, of Texas – Trafficking Cocaine and Marijuana
• Femark Dewayne Robinson, 53, of Birmingham – Trafficking Cocaine, Fentanyl, Opiates, and MDMA
• Demetrius Laron King Jr., 22, of Huntsville – Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime

Additional individuals face charges including possession with intent, trafficking, and conspiracy to commit controlled substance crimes.

The Agent Billy Clardy III Act, signed into law in 2023, honors the memory of HPD STAC Agent Billy Clardy III, who was killed in the line of duty in 2019. The law strengthens law enforcement’s ability to disrupt drug trafficking organizations.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities said further charges may be forthcoming.
