OHIO — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties, including the cities of Cleveland, Mentor, Painesville, Chardon, Ashtabula, and surrounding areas.
The warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. Monday.
Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph.
Roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, may become slick and hazardous.
Visibility could drop below a quarter mile due to falling and blowing snow, making travel dangerous. The hazardous conditions may also impact Monday morning commutes.
Steady snowfall is expected to redevelop Sunday evening, with strong winds causing reduced visibility.
Snow will taper off to scattered snow showers overnight.
Officials urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel. Those who must drive should carry an emergency kit, including a flashlight, food, and water.
