OHIO — Ohio will see dry and cloudy conditions today, with temperatures reaching a few degrees above freezing, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather conditions are expected to turn more active on Sunday as a strengthening area of low pressure moves into the Great Lakes region.

As the system develops, it will push a cold front eastward across Ohio late Sunday night into Monday. Rain showers are expected to develop on Sunday before transitioning to snow on Monday as colder air moves into the region.

Latest GFS model run as of Saturday afternoon, total snowfall from now until Friday, January 2, 2026

Behind the cold front, strong wind gusts are likely, which could lead to reduced visibility at times, especially where snow is falling.

At present, snowfall totals are running between 3 and 5 inches in northeast Ohio, with lighter amounts of 1 to 3 inches reported across western, central, and southern parts of the state.

Forecasters note that weather conditions may change, and residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts.
