
FLORIDA — Nearly 2,000 homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity as of Friday morning, according to the latest outage data.
PowerOutage.us reports that 1,884 customers are currently without power statewide, representing about 0.02% of the more than 10.9 million customers tracked.
Hillsborough County is reporting the highest number of outages, with 473 customers affected. Other counties with notable outages include Holmes County with 225, Pinellas County with 212, and both Broward and Collier counties reporting 200 outages each. Smaller numbers of outages are also reported in Alachua, Duval, and Palm Beach counties.
Among utility providers, Florida Power & Light Company has the largest number of outages, with 770 customers affected. Tampa Electric reports 474 outages, while Duke Energy has 244 customers without power.
By percentage, Holmes County is among the hardest hit, with just over 2% of customers affected, while West Florida Electric reports the highest outage percentage among utilities.
Statewide, Florida ranks among the top 10 states for total outages, though the overall percentage of customers affected remains low.
