Multiple homes and businesses in Louisiana without power

LOUISIANA — More than 1,700 homes and businesses across Louisiana are without electricity Thursday morning, according to the latest outage data.

As of the most recent update, 1,776 customers are without power statewide. That represents about 0.08% of the 2,320,185 customers tracked across Louisiana. The data was updated approximately seven minutes prior to reporting.

Louisiana currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of power outages and third nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Out of Louisiana’s 64 parishes, Orleans Parish has the highest number of outages, with 1,639 customers without power. By percentage, Orleans is also the hardest hit, with 0.84% of customers affected.

Other parishes reporting outages include Jefferson (52), East Baton Rouge (30), De Soto (12), St. Landry (12), St. Tammany (11), Iberia (4), and Sabine (2).

Statewide, 12 utilities are being tracked. Entergy reports the highest number of customers without power, with 1,731 outages. Entergy also has the highest percentage of customers affected at 0.13%.

Restoration times have not yet been announced. Customers are encouraged to report outages directly to their utility provider and monitor updates as crews work to restore service.
