
FLORIDA — Nearly 2,000 homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity as of Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
Statewide, 1,984 customers are currently without power. That represents approximately 0.02% of the 10,913,955 customers tracked across Florida. The figures were last updated about 12 minutes prior to publication.
Florida currently ranks fourth in the nation for the total number of outages and 16th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Miami-Dade County has the highest number of outages, with 917 customers without service.
Broward County reports 200 outages, while Hillsborough County has 190 customers affected. Other counties reporting outages include Alachua with 101, Citrus with 79, Escambia with 74, Volusia with 67, and Brevard with 61.
Among utility providers, Florida Power & Light Company reports the largest number of outages, with 1,570 customers without electricity out of more than 5.1 million tracked. Tampa Electric reports 190 outages, while Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative has 92 customers without power. Duke Energy reports 61 outages, and the City of Tallahassee reports 21.
The cause of the outages has not been specified. Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from their local utility providers for restoration timelines.
