OHIO — A 63-year-old Montpelier man was seriously injured Thursday night in a motorcycle crash after swerving to avoid a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:25 p.m. in Northwest Township.
The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on U.S. 20 when a dark-colored vehicle heading north on County Road 4 failed to yield at a stop sign.
The motorcyclist swerved to avoid a collision and went off the road.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time and was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene, and troopers say it’s unclear whether that vehicle sustained any damage.
