TEXAS — A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon following a police pursuit that ended in a crash in League City, according to authorities.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcyclist was being pursued by League City police when the incident occurred.
Officials said the pursuit came to an end after the motorcycle crashed. The rider, who authorities described as the suspect in the pursuit, was pronounced dead following the crash.
Authorities have not released the identity of the motorcyclist.
Investigators said it remains unclear what led to the pursuit or what caused the crash.
Multiple lanes on Main Street were shut down as crews responded to the scene and began their investigation.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and said more information will be released as it becomes available.
