PENNSYLVANIA — A woman has been arrested after a child was found on the roof of a home attempting to grab nearby power lines, authorities said.
Police responded to the 200 block of North Walnut Street after receiving reports of a child on top of a house. By the time officers arrived, the child was no longer on the roof.
Investigators said the drop from the roof to the ground was approximately 20 feet, and high winds at the time increased the risk of serious injury.
Officers later determined that two children had been left alone inside the home. Authorities said the children were locked inside with no way to exit or call for help in an emergency. One of the children has been diagnosed with autism, officials said.
The children’s mother, Amanda Rivera, 38, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children.
The investigation remains ongoing.
