TENNESSEE — Schools across Tennessee will close for at least one day this month in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Districts statewide have confirmed that classes will not be held on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
While the exact length of Thanksgiving break varies by district, all public schools will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Many districts are also expected to extend the break to include additional days that week, commonly closing on Wednesday or Friday to allow families more time to travel and gather.
Parents and students are encouraged to check with their local school systems for specific holiday schedules, as some districts post revised calendars or make adjustments based on weather makeup days.
Regular classes will resume following each district’s planned holiday schedule.
