PENNSYLVANIA — Most schools across Pennsylvania will close for at least one additional day this month in observance of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The holiday, which is recognized nationwide, gives students and staff time off to celebrate with family and friends.
Many districts also plan to extend the break by closing on Friday, November 28, providing a long weekend before classes resume the following Monday.
School officials note that the Thanksgiving holiday is a scheduled closure on all academic calendars, separate from any weather-related cancellations that may occur later in the month.
