TEXAS — A traffic stop along Interstate 35 early Thursday morning led to the seizure of more than 500 pounds of illegal drugs, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Authorities said a DPS trooper stopped a vehicle at approximately 2:30 a.m. in Waco for multiple traffic violations.
During the stop, a DPS K-9 named Karma was deployed and alerted troopers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
Troopers then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered approximately 480 pounds of methamphetamine and 40 pounds of black tar heroin.
Officials have not yet released additional details about the investigation or whether any arrests were made.
