SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities in Greenville County seized large quantities of marijuana products and cash during searches at two local businesses on Wednesday.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the county’s Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit executed search warrants at Panthers Distribution locations on Woodruff Road and Woodruff Drive.
During the searches, deputies confiscated more than 1,850 pounds of marijuana products and approximately $530,000 in cash.
Investigators said the probe into the businesses began in part due to complaints about high school students using marijuana products similar to those allegedly being sold at the locations.
The sheriff’s office said evidence from the raids is still being reviewed and charges are likely, though no suspects have been publicly identified at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
