PENNSYLVANIA — A fast-moving winter system is expected to bring another round of accumulating snow to parts of western Pennsylvania tonight into Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service Pittsburgh has issued a new Winter Weather Advisory for areas northeast of Pittsburgh and along the higher ridges. The advisory calls for 2 to 5 inches of new snow, with locally higher amounts possible across the highest elevations.

Forecasters say the system will be quick-hitting, but snowfall rates could be steady at times overnight before tapering off Wednesday. The greatest accumulations are expected in communities northeast of Pittsburgh and in elevated terrain, where colder temperatures and upslope flow may enhance totals.
Road conditions could deteriorate quickly late tonight, especially on untreated surfaces. Slick and snow-covered roads may impact the Wednesday morning commute. Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time and use caution.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts and advisories as the system moves through the region.
