MISSOURI — A high school student is in custody after allegedly threatening another student at Zalma R-V School, according to the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities received information about the threat from a parent on Tuesday, March 25, at around 9:20 p.m.
Following an investigation involving school officials, the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Jared Linan of Gipsy, Mo.
Linan was arrested on Wednesday, March 26, and charged with one count of second-degree terrorist threat, a Class E felony. He is being held at the Bollinger County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
According to a criminal complaint, Linan allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the school.
However, Sheriff Casey Graham stated that the threat was isolated to one student and that other students and staff were not in danger.
Linan’s first court appearance is scheduled for Friday, March 28, at the Bollinger County Courthouse.
