WEST VIRGINIA — A woman who was reported missing earlier this month in Randolph County has been found deceased, according to authorities.
Trooper T.J. Sclimenti of the West Virginia State Police responded to a missing persons complaint at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at a residence on Rolling Lane in Elkins. Officials said Gabriellie L. Allen, 64, of Vienna, was last seen shortly after midnight at the residence.
Authorities were advised that Allen had been diagnosed with mental health issues and was taking several medications. Her personal belongings were later located along U.S. Route 219, prompting an extensive search of the surrounding area.
Multiple agencies, including search and rescue teams and K-9 units, conducted coordinated efforts to locate Allen in the days following her disappearance. Despite those efforts, she was not immediately found.
On Wednesday, March 25, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Allen was discovered deceased by a private landowner tending to property near U.S. Route 219. Officials said she was found on private property along an abandoned log road, not far from the initial search areas.
Authorities confirmed that next of kin has been notified. The investigation remains ongoing.
