TEXAS — Police are investigating after the body of a missing woman was found near a trail in Dallas on Monday night.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded around 8 p.m. on March 9 to reports of a body in the 8500 block of Walnut Hill Lane near Harry S. Moss Park along the White Rock Creek Trail.
Authorities said the incident is being investigated as an unexplained death.
The Richardson Police Department later identified the woman as Gwen McTernen, a resident of Richardson who had been reported missing on March 7.
Police said officers from both departments had been searching Harry S. Moss Park, where McTernen was believed to have gone missing, when someone in the park reported finding a body. Officials said they believe the body is McTernen.
The Dallas Police Department is leading the investigation. No additional details have been released.
