LOUISIANA — A Shreveport man who had been reported missing earlier this month was found dead Monday, according to the Shreveport Police Department.
Police said William Richard Evans III, also known as Ricky Evans, was found around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Marshall Street. Authorities said he was discovered by a passerby, unconscious and not breathing.
Evans’ brother, Austin Evans, confirmed the death in a social media post Monday night.
Investigators said a drug overdose is suspected, though the cause of death has not yet been confirmed by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.
Police said there is no indication of foul play.
Evans had been missing since March 13 after leaving a business in downtown Shreveport. Family and friends had organized search efforts in the days leading up to the discovery.
The investigation remains ongoing pending official findings from the coroner’s office.
