TENNESSEE — The body of a missing Shelbyville man was discovered Sunday on Normandy Lake, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
Officials said game wardens responded to a report of a possible missing boater around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The report involved 66-year-old Marvin Parker, who family members said had gone to the lake Friday to fish and place fish attractors but had not been heard from since.
Authorities said a family member located Parker’s unoccupied boat near the shoreline by Normandy Dam and called 911. While first responders searched the area, another fisherman in a nearby creek reported finding a body.
Responders recovered the body and later identified it as Parker. Officials said he was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time of the incident.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said the death marks the second boating-related fatality on Tennessee waterways in 2026. The incident remains under investigation.
