PENNSYLVANIA — Lake-enhanced snow showers are expected to return to northwest Pennsylvania tonight and continue through Sunday, bringing another round of accumulating snow to the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say the snow will primarily impact Pennsylvania communities within the Lake Erie snowbelt. The highest snowfall totals are expected in northern Erie County, where 2 to 4 inches of snow could accumulate from tonight through Sunday.

Areas including North East, Erie, and surrounding lakeshore communities are likely to see 2 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in persistent lake-effect bands.

Farther inland across northwest Pennsylvania, including portions of Crawford County, snowfall amounts are expected to taper off. Communities such as Meadville, Titusville, and nearby areas may receive 1 to 2 inches, while some locations farther south could see less than an inch of accumulation.

Temperatures will remain cold throughout the weekend, with highs generally in the 20s and overnight lows dropping into the teens. Snow showers are expected to become more scattered by Sunday night.

The National Weather Service says a gradual warming trend is expected early next week, with temperatures beginning to rebound into the 30s and potentially nearing 40 degrees by Monday, bringing a brief break from the wintry pattern.
