KENTUCKY — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of eastern Kentucky as the first measurable snowfall of the season is expected to arrive Sunday night and continue into early Tuesday.
The advisory covers Bell, Pike, Harlan, and Letcher counties, including communities such as Pikeville, Coal Run, South Williamson, Middlesboro, Pineville, Elkhorn City, Harlan, Jenkins, Cumberland, and Whitesburg.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, snow is expected to develop after 7 p.m. Sunday and continue periodically through 7 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasts call for total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches across the affected counties.

Even though snowfall amounts are not expected to be heavy, officials warn that road conditions could become slippery, especially overnight and during the early morning hours. The weather could impact both the Monday morning commute and the drive home Monday evening.
Drivers are advised to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, and use caution on untreated or elevated roadways. Residents are also encouraged to stay updated on changing conditions.
