Measurable snow to cause difficult travel in Ohio Friday

OHIO — The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting snow across Ohio beginning this afternoon and continuing into tonight, with varying accumulation levels depending on the region.

According to the NWS in Wilmington, snowfall totals will range from 3 to 4 inches along and west of Interstate 75 to 2 to 3 inches in the Scioto River Valley.

The heaviest impacts are expected in the Tri-State Region and Dayton, where the afternoon onset of snow could disrupt evening commutes.

Meanwhile, the NWS in Cleveland reports steady light snow will move into the area late today and persist through early Saturday morning, with 2 to 4 inches expected.

Untreated roads may become hazardous, and light lake effect snow showers are expected to linger in the Snowbelt on Saturday.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and prepare for slippery conditions.
