GEORGIA — Deputies in Franklin County say a traffic stop early Friday morning led to the discovery of a missing juvenile from Washington state in the company of a registered sex offender.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was identified after being flagged by a Flock camera system, which uses license plate reader technology to assist law enforcement in locating wanted or missing persons.
During the stop, deputies said they found 25-year-old Caelen Dennis of Idaho inside the vehicle along with the missing juvenile. Investigators noted that Dennis had also been reported missing and is a registered sex offender in Idaho. He is prohibited from having contact with minors.
Dennis was taken into custody and booked at the Franklin County Detention Center. Authorities have not yet released details on the charges he may face.
