FLORIDA — A Florida man was arrested following an unusual incident at a bus terminal that involved a ketchup packet and the discovery of cocaine, according to authorities.
Police said 28-year-old Austin Simmons was taken into custody after an encounter with another individual identified as Mora. Investigators said Mora approached Simmons to check on him after noticing he appeared to be passed out at the terminal.
Authorities said that after regaining consciousness, Simmons became upset and threw an opened ketchup packet at Mora, causing ketchup to stain Mora’s jacket. Simmons later admitted to giving Mora the ketchup packet but denied intentionally striking him.
During the investigation, officers reportedly found a white powdery substance on Simmons. The substance was tested and determined to be cocaine, resulting in an additional charge of possession.
No injuries were reported. Further details about the case were not immediately released.
