FAIRFIELD COUNTY — Authorities have arrested a man accused of abducting his 2-month-old son, prompting a statewide Amber Alert in Ohio.
The alert was issued after Caius Burris was reportedly taken during a domestic dispute on Tuesday.
According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, a woman called 911, stating that the child’s father, identified as Russell, had left her at a business in Lithopolis and fled with their son.
Police located the infant safely in the Groveport area near Lachlan Landings Drive, where the vehicle involved was also found.
Hours later, Russell was taken into custody, though authorities did not disclose the location of his arrest.
The sheriff’s office has not yet confirmed the charges Russell will face in connection with the incident.
