LOUISIANA — A 20-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly taking a 13-year-old girl from Amelia to Texas, authorities said.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the girl left her home on Nov. 17 with Kevin Renan Vargas Aguilera.
Louisiana State Police issued a Missing Child Advisory within two hours of the local law enforcement request. The teen was located in Texas the following day.
Vargas Aguilera was arrested in Texas and extradited to St. Mary Parish, where he was booked on charges including simple kidnapping, indecent behavior with a juvenile, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, and simple criminal damage to property.
