
TENNESSEE — A man accused of making a bomb threat while attempting to rob a bank in the MetroCenter area was arrested Tuesday, according to police.
Officers responded to Fifth Third Bank on Rosa Parks Boulevard after receiving a call about a possible robbery. When officers arrived, they found Arianz Grant, 36, seated in the bank lobby with a black bag beside him, arrest documents state.
According to police, three bank employees reported that Grant stumbled into the bank and slid a note to two employees demanding money. The employees told officers that Grant repeatedly claimed there was a bomb in his bag and said he was “just trying to get some money.”
Grant was taken into custody and booked into the Metro jail. He is charged with felony attempted robbery, misdemeanor false reporting and misdemeanor public intoxication. His bond was set at $75,100.
