LOUISIANA — Law enforcement is investigating a bomb threat called into Glasgow Middle School Thursday morning, prompting the evacuation of students and staff, officials said.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System reported that the threat was received around 9 a.m. Students were temporarily relocated to Liberty High School while authorities conducted a sweep of the middle school campus.
School officials notified parents, saying, “Students and staff are safe and accounted for. Out of an abundance of caution, our team immediately initiated our safety protocols and evacuated the building. The School Drug Task Force and law enforcement partners are actively investigating the call.”
Parents were directed to Liberty High’s gym to pick up their children if needed. Officials said students unable to be picked up would return to Glasgow Middle once law enforcement gave the all-clear and resume their normal schedule.
The investigation is ongoing, and school officials said updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
