TENNESSEE — The Ninth Judicial Drug Task Force has seized large quantities of fentanyl and THC as part of an ongoing investigation, according to a statement posted on social media.

The task force reported the seizure of 5.2 pounds of fentanyl and 481 pounds of THC. Authorities said the fentanyl equates to approximately 1,179,000 individual doses at 2 milligrams each. Investigators estimate the fentanyl has a wholesale value of about $100,000 and a street value exceeding $10 million.

“This operation demonstrates the critical work being done to disrupt trafficking networks and prevent these deadly substances from reaching the streets,” the task force said in the post. “We commend all agencies involved for their coordination, intelligence, and dedication to keeping our communities safe.”

The Ninth Judicial Drug Task Force serves Loudon, Meigs, Morgan, and Roane counties. It is composed of members from the Loudon Police Department, Lenoir City Police Department, the National Guard Counterdrug Unit, the 9th District Attorney General’s Office, and federal partners.
