OHIO — Local law enforcement agencies recently executed a drug investigation that led to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, firearms, and cash, the Dayton Police Department reported.
Detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau served a search warrant on Monday, October 20. The exact location of the search was not disclosed.
Authorities recovered 2.7 kilograms of fentanyl, 620.7 grams of methamphetamine, four handguns, a vehicle of interest, and $2,741. Two of the handguns were reported stolen, and the vehicle is allegedly connected to a downtown Dayton shooting.
In a statement, the DPD said the seizure demonstrates its commitment to public safety. “It only takes 2 milligrams of fentanyl to cause an overdose. This recovery will have a real impact preventing overdoses and possible death from this dangerous narcotic,” officials said.
