Indiana school closings and delays for Tuesday

INDIANA — Many school districts across Indiana announced closures, delays, and virtual learning plans for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, as districts adjust schedules due to ongoing conditions affecting travel and school operations.

Several schools will be closed or move entirely to online instruction. Brown County School Corporation and The Excel Center–Richmond will be closed for the day.

Bloomfield School District will operate using synchronous eLearning, while Jennings County Schools, Madison Schools, Corpus Christi School, and Christian Academy of Madison will shift to virtual learning or e-learning for Tuesday.

A large number of districts will begin the day on a two-hour delay. Cloverdale Community Schools will open two hours late and will not hold morning preschool classes. Martinsville Schools MSD, Monroe County Community Schools, Monroe-Gregg School District, Mooresville Consolidated Schools, Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson Schools, South Henry School Corporation, South Putnam Community Schools, Salem Schools, East Washington Schools, and West Washington Schools will all operate on a two-hour delay.

Midwest Bartenders School will also open two hours late. Borden-Henryville School Corporation announced a delayed start, though specific timing was not immediately detailed.

Families are encouraged to monitor official school communications for updates regarding transportation, after-school activities, and any further schedule adjustments.
