KENTUCKY — The National Weather Service in Charleston, West Virginia, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and northern and western West Virginia.

The advisory was issued at 4:28 p.m. on Nov. 17 and will remain in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Forecasters say freezing rain is expected, with total ice accumulation limited to a light glaze. A brief period of freezing rain is anticipated before conditions transition to all rain.

The affected counties include Greenup, Carter, Boyd, Perry, Morgan, Athens, Washington, Jackson, Vinton, Meigs, Gallia, Lawrence, Cabell, Mason, and Wood.

The National Weather Service warns that sidewalks, roads, and bridges may become very slippery, potentially impacting the Tuesday morning commute. Areas prone to cold air drainage may see freezing rain linger the longest.
