Ice to create “hazardous” travel in Ohio through Sunday

OHIO — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of northeast Ohio, including cities such as Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Canton, and Mentor.

The advisory is in effect until noon today.

What to Expect:

• Conditions: Freezing rain with total ice accumulations of less than one-tenth of an inch.
• Timing: Precipitation will move in this morning, beginning as snow before quickly transitioning to freezing rain. By midday, freezing rain is expected to change to plain rain as temperatures rise.
• Impacts: Roads, bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks may become slick and hazardous, posing risks to drivers and pedestrians.
