OHIO — A crash involving a semi-truck shut down both directions of Interstate 280 Friday evening after the driver lost control and struck a concrete barrier near Toledo.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 6:45 p.m. in Lake Township, just outside Toledo. Officials said the driver was traveling south on I-280 when the semi collided with the concrete barriers dividing the highway.
The crash left the tractor portion of the truck stuck on top of the concrete wall, blocking the northbound lanes, while the trailer came to rest across the southbound lanes, effectively shutting down traffic in both directions.
Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries, though additional details about his condition were not immediately released.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and continued working to clear the wreckage and reopen the interstate. Authorities have not said how long the roadway closures may last while crews remove the truck and repair any damage to the barriers.
