OHIO — A hot air balloon struck power lines while attempting to land Friday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. in a field south of Lake High School. Troopers said the recreational balloon hit and snapped power lines during the landing attempt, causing a cable on the balloon to break.

Despite the collision, the pilot was able to bring the balloon down safely. Four people were on board at the time, and no injuries were reported.

At least one nearby building lost power due to the incident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
