TENNESSEE — The head football coach of Raleigh-Egypt High School has been arrested on drug charges following an undercover investigation.
Detectives with a narcotics unit arrested 32-year-old Trevin Wallace after observing what they described as a drug transaction.
Investigators were conducting surveillance at a home on Boyle Avenue on Tuesday when they saw a man, later identified as Calvin Gathings, pick up a package from a front porch and place it into the passenger seat of a vehicle.
About an hour later, detectives said Gathings delivered the package to Wallace. Officers later took Gathings into custody and obtained a search warrant for Wallace’s home. Inside, investigators found the same package in a backpack along with a digital scale. The package was found to contain marijuana.
According to police, Wallace admitted to knowingly having the marijuana delivered to his home. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wallace serves as the head football coach at Raleigh-Egypt High School.
